Microsoft Flight Simulator Training – A Look at How Pilot Training Systems Work:
First, Complete Flight Training:
Unsurprisingly, Microsoft Flight Simulator is a realistic Flight Simulator. There is a lot to know before you can even take off correctly, unlike in an arcade flying game. In-depth instructions are provided in the Flight Training section on how to properly take off into the air, stay in the air, and land.
Although advising everyone to start their day in training mode isn’t particularly enjoyable, it’s necessary. Flight training is intended to get you in the air as quickly as possible and covers practically every important idea. In addition, it clarifies a few controls that might not be obvious, particularly if you intend to use a controller to play this game. You will become comfortable with the fundamental controls, navigation, and landing with these eight quick activities.
After around 30 to 40 minutes of flight training, you should feel comfortable enough to take off on your own and fly anywhere in the world.
Which aircraft to use:
You will only fly the Cessna 152 throughout flight training, which has a cruise speed of 107 KTAS (knots true airspeed). As you’ve discovered in your classes, that range of speed is suitable for travelling a short region. You’re going to need a quicker plane if you want to travel farther.
We’ll go through the many types of aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator in this section, as well as some suggestions on when and why you might want to utilize each one.
Pulsar Planes:
Propeller aircraft, like the Cessna 152, are excellent for low, sluggish flight. Select a propeller plane with a cruise speed of less than 150 KTAS if you intend to do any sightseeing in crowded regions, such as cities, or if you want to find where you reside.
Similar to propeller-driven aircraft, turboprops fly twice as quickly and may reach twice as high an altitude. Once you feel at ease with propeller planes, these are suitable planes to advance to. They work well when you need something faster, such as when crossing wide expanses of territory like mountains, extensive woods, or sizable lakes.
Consider boarding an airplane or jet to travel farther distances. Both choices can reach altitudes that are more than three times higher and have airspeed that are quadruple those of the plane you learn the fundamentals on. Both choices move at about the same pace, but their sizes make them handle differently. If you feel like simulating an international flight from the comfort of your home computer, some airplanes have substantially higher fuel reserves.
How to Get in A Flight:
The ability to fly anywhere in the world is one of Microsoft Flight Simulator’s most thrilling features. It’s easy to take to the skies over some most stunning places on earth, or even your own house, but there are a few things to know before.
Points of Interest refer to the majority of significant landmarks in the world. Search for them in the World Map / Free Flight mode if your objective is to see well-known locations or natural wonders.
Active Pause Techniques:
You may have noticed the recommendation for Active Pause on a loading screen, but since it isn’t assigned to a specific key, you might not know how to utilize it.
You can pause your aircraft’s motion with an active pause so you can have a look around. By pressing the pause button on your controller or the Escape key on your keyboard, you can access the standard pause menu, which hides all other options. However, you must assign your Active Pause function to a key if you wish to pause the action and look about.
Because the game doesn’t use it and the Control key is located at the bottom of your keyboard, it is quick and simple to access.
Using Active Pause, we set up the shot you see above. With the feature on, we pointed the external camera in the right direction (using the View button on our Xbox One controller) and adjusted the weather settings in the toolbar to put the sun at the proper height.
This option is also fantastic if you need to take a moment to look around before finding your residence.
Enjoy Your Time with The ATC Options:
Check out the ATC Options before you leave for your travels. Although altering these air traffic control settings won’t significantly affect your trip, they will give you the opportunity to laugh a little while listening to the radio announcements.
The tail number you enter will be displayed on the back of your aircraft. You may now insert a few letters or digits. Although it doesn’t really matter, it’s wonderful to see your name or preferred numbers emblazoned on the side of your aircraft.
The air traffic control staff will typically utilize your call sign, which is a group of distinguishing characters, to recognize you over the radio. The Phonetic Alphabet will be used to call out any letters you use in your call sign, but if you write in a short word, they might pronounce it instead. Although we discovered that vulgar language is replaced with a generic call sign, short names and sentences function wonderfully.

Thank you and see you soon in the next article.
I actually recall dabbling in this platform a while back, and I must admit, it was pretty fun. One thing I recall, was how hard it was with the XBOX controller on your PC, that I would always spiral out of control, or have difficulties landing.
If you look at this gameplay as ‘fun’, you’ll most definitely enjoy it, but if you’re eager to start flight school after a few hours on this game, you’d better think again.
Would you promote this as an option to get started into flight school, or just for entertainment purposes?
It can be promoted for fun and get started in flight school. For those on budget you can train yourself using Microsoft Flight Simulator training. You can use Xbox controller on the pc to play but it would be better getting joystick or flight simulator controller because it is easier to control the aircraft and help you improve your flight simulator experience. It is easier to land using the joystick or flight yoke.
I think this is great if you are interested in becoming a pilot and starting flight school. The fact that there is a lot to know before you can even take off correctly, makes it even more like real life. I am sure if you are interested in flying the day in training mode could be fun. And the more you practice, the more you’ll get familiar with all the controls.
Practice and skills are important if you want to become a a professional pilot. If you can practice flying virtually, you can easily become a pilot.
Hey great post and a thorough approach!
I haven’t played a flight simulator game in a while, and the only ones I used to play some time ago was the mini ones available on smart phones, I think it’s definitely time to begin this exciting hobby again! A better and a more realistic experience this time!
I’m guessing this is only available on pc if its run by Microsoft.
Have a great day!
It is also available on Xbox latest version and you should try the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
