The most recent MFS (Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020) upgrades have been released.

Update on Development as of May 18, 2023,:

The Aircraft & Avionics Update 02 (AAU_02) for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now undergoing public testing. We recently made available 1.33.5.0, a new beta build.

April 27th, 2023, Update on Development

Tuesday was a momentous day for us! First, we updated the Sim to version 1.32.7.0 and launched World Update XIII: Oceania.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator Team | April 25, 2023,:

Oceania is made up of far-flung coral islands, extensive expanses of white sand beach, looming volcanoes, enormous interior swaths of uninhabited jungle, and populous cities with cutting-edge architectural marvels.

April 20th, 2023, Update on Development:

The crew is now working diligently to be ready for the impending release of Expert Series I: ATR 42-600 / 72-600 and World Update XIII: Oceania. Both are scheduled for release on Tuesday, April 25, the following week.

Aircraft & Avionics Update 02 (AAU_02), the following significant release of Microsoft Flight Simulator, is still undergoing public testing. We published beta build 1.33.5.0 earlier today. The release notes can be found here. On our forums, you can find instructions on how to join the beta if you’d want to help test this new build but aren’t already a part of it. Both PC and Xbox users can access the AAU_02 pre-release test.

We recently made Famous Flyer V: Antonov An-2’s PDF manual available. The manual for the An-2 and a number of other aircraft from our Local Legends and Famous Flyers series are available on our website.

Marketplace Update:

This week, the Marketplace has 94 new and 53 updated products. The Thursday Marketplace update typically goes live between the time this blog post is published and 5pm Pacific Time.

Marketplace Backlog:

Current Backlog: 780 Total

Based on established internal processes and criteria, marketplace submissions are given one of four priority ratings (P1–P4, with P1 being the highest priority). To make sure the priority system is best serving both our players and 3rd Party Developers, we continually examine and adjust it.

Future framework revisions:

improving smoothing path calculator efficiency and adding the ability to wait for LNAV computations to finish before starting vertical path calculations. (AAU_02) Clamping the maximum path intercept angle improves Autopilot VNAV Path Director. (AAU_02) Adding a new utility class called MultiExpSmoother to offer an exponential moving average to be used with estimated velocity and acceleration. (AAU_02)

The SDK FMC Framework should be updated to add general and optional error messages. PAYLOAD WEIGHT STATION has been added to the Weight and Balance sim var publisher (AAU_02). (AAU_02)

The SDK will now include new MapSubject and SubscribableMap interfaces; a MapSubject is a subscribable.

The cost of Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Standard Edition, which includes 20 aircraft and 30 improved airports, is $59.99 USD or $99.95 AUD. Those who purchase Xbox Game Pass for PC (or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) will automatically obtain this version.

Although there are 37 thousand airports in the game instead of just 30, only those 30 are “enhanced” or accurate to real-life. The more enhanced airports you get, the higher your edition is.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Deluxe Edition:

Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Deluxe Edition includes five additional improved (or really accurate) airports in addition to five extra aircraft. Retail price is $139.95 AUD or $89.99 USD.
