After you receive clearance from the control tower, you can taxi. Before taxing on the runway, you need to release the parking brake and turn on the progressive taxi from the ATC menu. Press the CTRL & P key so the aircraft reverse from the airport terminal, and press CTRL & P to stop the reverse.
There is a throttle where you need to move the aircraft. Use the throttle slightly to move the plane, but do not push it toward the end because the plane will accelerate very fast. Use the right arrow or left arrow on the keyboard to move the aircraft right or left. Suppose you are using the joystick push right or left. Continue to taxi until you approach the runway.
Preparing for take off:
You need to communicate with the control tower to receive clearance for take-off. Once you receive permission for take-off, the aircraft have to be aligned on the centre of the runway. Before taking off, you want to make sure the flap is in a downward position at certain degrees, the landing light, strobe light on, and seat belt sign switched on.
After you verify the take-off checklist, push the throttle toward the end gradually until the aircraft reaches the take-off speed, then lift the plane up to 10 degrees using the arrow key down or pull on the joystick. Then raise the landing gear to the upward position and flap to zero degrees. Once the aircraft reached its altitude, it is considered airborne.
Flying in the air:
Once the aircraft is airborne, you need to communicate with the air traffic controller from time to time. You can view the map to see where the plane is located around the globe, see waypoints, weather in the area, and where to avoid stormy weather. If you set the autopilot control on while in midair, you can use it to adjust altitude, heading, and vertical speed. The radiofrequency will change as you enter another airspace or station.
You can view the aircraft from a different angle by pressing the space bar and using the mouse. You can also view the plane’s wing from the window by pressing the “S” key twice. As you prepare to land on the runway at the selected airport, first you need to request a landing from the air traffic control tower, and they will choose the runway for landing, and in some airports, you can select it for landing and communicate with them to receive clearance for landing. Put the aircraft in a nose-down position slightly using the up arrow key found on the keyboard or push the joystick forward. You will notice that the altitude number is beginning to decrease on the altitude indicator. Also, you need to reduce speed by moving the throttle back slightly, extend flap position downward to certain degrees, switch the landing light on, seat belt sign-on, and use the trim, you need to maintain altitude and speed, and the landing gear should be in a downward position. There is minimum altitude and distance for aircraft to land, and it depends on the runway length and the aircraft type.
Approaching the runway:
You need to pull the aircraft slightly up using an arrow key or the joystick so the gear on the back touches first and then the nose gear and aligns the plane on the centre of the runway. An instrument landing system (ILS) helps the aircraft to land on the runway safely. It is used during the day and night. The runway will be illuminated at night for the pilot to see, and there is approach lighting. Once the aircraft touches down, you will need to put the throttle in the backward position. Retract the flap to the original position and press the brake (using the period key on the keyboard) until the aircraft slows down.
If you see two red and white lights beside the runway, that means you are on the correct glide slope.
Taxing to the airport terminal:
Once the aircraft slows down, you need to taxi until you bring the aircraft to a complete stop. It has to be in front of the airport terminal. It is easier to use rudder control to turn on the taxiway. But if you are making a large turn, you need to turn the joystick right or left. After the aircraft stops and park at the terminal, you can set the parking brake on by pressing Ctrl and period (.) key. Switch all the engines off by pressing Ctrl, Shift+F1. If you are not flying to another place, just exit the game by pressing the Escape key and end the flight.
