Flight Simulator Multiple Monitors – Essential Steps to Configure Your System for Optimal Performance

Flight Simulator Multiple Monitors – Essential Steps to Configure Your System for Optimal Performance:

Multi monitor

After you get your joystick, flight yoke control or other accessories, and you got high quality monitor for Flight Simulator, you should get three monitor than one monitor because that will make the flying experience better. Below we will discuss on how to set up the multiple monitor to enjoy the flight experience.

The Benefits of Multiple Monitors:

Multiple Monitors

Not all single monitors can have four separate windows open at the same time. Not even all single monitors can have four windows open at the same time. Let’s say you have a 32-inch 16:9 monitor in a standard configuration. Your most important windows for flight simulation include a Flight Simulator window and a Google Chrome window. You could run both your Google Chrome and your Flight Simulator at the same time, but it would be next to impossible. You’d have to keep resizing Chrome to stay within the screen, which would eat into your precious travel time. This is why dual monitors are all the rage now, for those who have to run two different programs simultaneously. You’d have two large monitors, each with two windows open.

How to Set Up Your System:

Preparation is the key when setting up your multi-monitor setup. Start by making a chart of the system requirements for each system: OS Requirements Mobile Devices A PC that can handle a 3D game in 1080p CPU Graphics card Graphics memory RAM Storage OpenGL 3DMark Drivers depending on how old you are and how many games you play, you’ll need different requirements.

Why Use Multiple Monitors? There are many reasons you should do this, but let’s start with the most important one: More hardware is less expensive. We’re not talking about spending a lot of money either. Also, remember that you can add more systems to your PC later on, depending on how much money you spend.

Tips for Maximizing Your Experience:

Decide if You Need to set up more than one monitor. If you plan to use the included mouse and keyboard, and you’re unsure how they’ll perform in the field, you probably need to invest in a second monitor. At the very least, you’ll want to add one additional monitor to the computer if you plan also to play popular FPS games, or if you intend to play PC games that are also compatible with the new Windows 10 operating system (or Mac games that support it). Also, if you want to use any of the complex flight simulations that require a second monitor, you’ll definitely want to invest in another monitor.

Using your monitor stands correctly:

The way your monitor stands (and even the weight of the monitor itself) affects your monitors’ performance and overall look. For instance, if you use your desk and desk stands, the angles of the stand can cause distortion of your view. This can be especially problematic if you’re using a heavy, heavily framed monitor like a 34-inch 4K IPS screen. Depending on your frame, the angle of your monitor could also cause an issue. Alternatively, if you’re using a laptop stand, be sure to check out the adjustments they offer for your positioning. If you need some advice on the best lappie stands or laptop stands, take a look at well-known review sites like CNet! Similarly, don’t sit in a ‘hot’ position, either! Sit back to allow a better screen to come on.

Find the right height:

It’s easy to be lazy about placing your monitor, even if you’ve already decided you want to use three monitors. Getting the monitor level can make a difference to how much you can see. Some people prefer to twist the monitor all the way over. That’s fine, but if you want to use the top monitor, it can make it difficult to see things that are at your side. If you’re going to use the upper monitor, you’ll need to give yourself time to manoeuvres it to its level.

It would be best if you also had a steady arm to steady the monitor. Otherwise, it can bounce if you’re too vigorous. Also, keep in mind that adjusting a third monitor (either direction or up and down) may require some movement. The most optimal configuration is one monitor in front of your face at all times.

Positioning your monitors without a stand:

Most people stand the monitor on the desk as is. Not the wisest way of positioning them. It would help if you aimed to put them as close to each other as possible. An ideal distance to aim for is around 24 inches. One of the benefits of stacking your monitors is that you can rotate them if needed. This reduces strain on your neck. Instead of using a standing desk, which isn’t very comfortable and will make you move around often, we recommend a proper standing desk.

On top of that, try putting your monitor on a wall mount. This will make it easier for you to move your monitor around to suit your needs. Right now, we think a VR headset is a must-have accessory for any serious plane geek.

  1. Someone close to me it’s a gamer but I don’t know if they still are and my younger sibling as well. They would love to have these screens as gifts.

I am not well informed on the topic but these screens look amazing and the size is not that big either. It will fit perfect in my sister’s room.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Yes the screen can fit in your sister room. Just make sure you have big table so the screen can fit.

  2. Is this multimonitor screen durable for all kinds of work or it’s only for flight simulators? Which one of them listed here in the article would you recommend the most? And also one more question, since you are an expert for flight simulators, is it suitable for both beginners and experienced tech savvies?

    1. These are gaming monitor screen and it is suitable for work and any games including Flight Simulator. I would recommend the curved monitor screen because it is comfortable for the eyes. Sure it can be suitable for beginners but setting up three monitor screen is a bit complicated.

  3. Hey there!

I really like this article. This is by far my favorite set up with a multi-screen view. I like having the real expansive experience you are able to get with greater visibility with a multi screen set up. It seems like you can see much clearer and have more realism when using the flight simulation programs.

  4. This seems pretty expensive. My siblings absolutely love to game so I will be sure to share this article with them. I am  sure that they will go and get all the monitors they need right away haha. I will let you know if they found this article interesting or not.

  5. Yeah, I think that it couldn’t be more accurate. As far as a flight simulator goes, having multiple monitors versus just one is a massive difference in terms of immersion. I mean, with a proper monitor setup, it can feel like sitting in an actual cockpit and looking out the windows, and doing whatever needs doing in terms of flying. To that end, I think a multiple monitor setup prepares you for real-life unforeseen situations much better. After playing around with simulation of that caliber of immersion, doing the real thing becomes much more intuitive I think. Because let’s be real. At first, the simulations are as close as you’re going to be getting to the real thing.

I loved those monitor suggestions. Personally, since I have an Asus, too, I was looking at those Asus options. And they look dope. I appreciate the suggestions. 🙂

  6. Hey there. Thank you very much for this post. I have been trying to figure out which would be the correct height for me. After carrying several tests, I feel satisfied with my setup. I also liked the SAMSUNG LC24F396, and it’s my number one recommendation for anybody serious about Flight Simulators.

    1. Thanks for the feedback and I appreciate it. It is recommended to get a curved monitor as it is good for the eyes.

  7. Hello MElamin,

There are many benefits of using a flight simulator with multiple monitors. One of the main benefits is that it can help you get used to flying in different types of aircraft, which will be helpful when you fly in real life. Another benefit is that it can help your spatial awareness and orientation skills, which is very important for pilots.

I can see clearly that In the past, flight simulators were designed to mimic a single monitor. However, as technology advanced and monitors became larger, pilots needed more screens to fly with. There are now many different types of monitors that can be used for the best experience.

I really think to buy one for my son at least there is opportunity to be pilot nor playing online gaming only. lol

    Have great weekend.

    1. It is good to set up multiple monitors for better flying experience. You will feel you are like turning right or left or going up and down.

  8. I saw a movie once (I don’t remember the name) in which something happened to the pilot and co-pilot so there was no one to fly the plane.  A young man comes forward and says he has all these hours of flight time so he gets behind the wheel.  When the time comes to land, he says he doesn’t know how.  Why?  Because all his flight hours were in a video game.  Haha!

I can see how using multiple monitors would really improve the experience of using a flight simulator as you can angle (as shown in the first picture) to mimic an airplane window.  Getting one of the curved monitors you show would only increase that experience!

    1. That was really interesting story. It is recommended to get a curved monitors as it is good for the eyes and still make flying experience better.

  9. Hello, thank you so much for this article.
Really loved the multi-screen view, it looks more realistic than one curved monitor.
It is really useful not only for flight simulators but also to improving gaming experience in other types of games. I will share this article with my gamer friends, thank you very much!

    1. Thank you for the feedback. Yes Multiple Monitors makes you feel like you are flying in real aircraft and also good for the eyes.
