Flight Simulator Instrument Panel Software – Which one is the best?

Flight Simulator Instrument Panel Software – Which one is the best?

In this post, we’re going to take a look at two of the well-known instrument panels for Flight Simulator and let you know which one is the best.

The first one is FlightPanel™ FLEX and the next one is Logitech Flight Instrument Panel. After reading the post, you’ll be able to decide to pick the one that works well and cover your needs, so stay with me. Both products have their own software to set up and manage them on FS systems.

FlightPanelTM FLEX:

An instrument panel for a Flight Simulator that is very adaptable and can actually fit on your desk!

The clever FlightPanelTM FLEX has you covered whether you fly with digital or steam gauges! Use a dash that conveniently fits on your desk to create countless flight instrument panels! Any instrumentation program, including PanelBuilder and Air Manager, as well as any Flight Simulator, including XPlane, P3D, FS2020, etc., are supported by FlightPanelTM FLEX. Numerous configurations are available with FLEX using a combination of screens, iPads, and avionics!

For your desk, the FlightPanelTM FLEX Instrument Panel is the right size:

The majority of desktop Flight Simulator panels require you to look up in order to view above them because they are so tall. This is very out of the ordinary and does not resemble flying at all. Only 10.5″ tall, the FlightPanelTM FLEX! Nevertheless, this low-profile flight instrument panel is crammed with features to give you the most authentic flying experience possible.

Intelligent FlightPanelTM FLEX:

The FlightPanelTM FLEX’s dedicated micro controller, which runs our unique software, is its brain. As a result, FLEX can react intelligently to your inputs on the push buttons, knobs, and switches. Read on to discover the advantages of our innovative SwitchSyncTM, IntelliSpinTM, and IntelliPressTM features.

Automatic Knob Acceleration by IntelliSpin is a feature of FlightPanelTM FLEX:

You’ve definitely noticed how dials and needles move exceedingly slowly when using conventional rotary encoders. You’ll never have that issue once more thanks to IntelliSpinTM! When you give a brief, fast twist, IntelliSpinTM automatically quickens knob rotation. Once IntelliSpinTM is engaged, you may maintain the dial’s quick rotation by turning the knob steadily and slowly. Simply stop turning the knob, or move it one step in the opposite direction, to stop the accelerated activity. You’ll adore this function, which doesn’t need any plugs!

There is IntelliPressTM Command Repetition in FlightPanelTM FLEX:

Simply by holding the button down, the push buttons on the FlightPanelTM FLEX can send continually repeated orders. In addition to the Rotary Panel, this creates a staggering array of alternatives!

Aircraft Harmonization using SwitchSyncTM is a feature of FlightPanelTM FLEX:

Amazingly, the FLEXTM instrument panel has a feature called SwitchSyncTM that automatically aligns each physical switch with its corresponding position in the virtual airplane. Every time you adjust the Mode Switch, this happens automatically, allowing you to rapidly change the virtual airplane’s configuration to correspond to all the actual switch configurations. When starting a new flight or changing airplanes in the sim, this is extremely helpful.

Any Flight Simulator can use FlightPanelTM FLEX, and it doesn’t need to be programmed:

Yes, you did read that right. FLEX does not require any sophisticated plugins or outside software because it emulates a keyboard. Simply use the keyboard mapping tools that your preferred Flight Simulator, such as X-Plane 11, Microsoft FS2020, or any other, already has (some older Flight Simulators might require a 3rd party software such as FSUIPC in order to map keystrokes to some functions). The bottom line is that FlightPanelTM FLEX is simple to use if you can map a keystroke to a function in your flight sim.

Mounting brackets with precisely machined slots for GPS systems and flight components:

The FlightPanelTM FLEX flight simulator instrument dash is perfectly mounted for a wide range of third-party components and is carefully cut utilizing top-notch CNC gear. To mix and match your preferred selection of displays, iPads, radios, autopilots, switch panels, and GPS systems, use the visual configuration below! The majority of these components can be ordered from us to be put in your FlightPanelTM FLEX instrument dash, or they are simple to install on your own.

  1. Hey great post!

I love flying simulators especially the ones that come with many accessories, giving a more realistic experience. My friend before actually taking the decision to become a pilot used to play around with simulators. They had the logitech one as a instrument panel.

This should be shares with them for sure!

    Have a great day!

    1. Improving your Flight Simulator experience with the available accessories will help your friend become a pilot easily. For more information on how to become a pilot scroll down the page to the footer menu and click how to become a professional pilot tab. You can show it to your friend.

  2. Hey MElamin,
What I like about flight simulators is that they cost less to maintain than actual aircraft. For example, simulators also eliminate the need for fuel making it affordable by many flight students.

What is cardinal for me is that if something goes wrong during a challenging maneuver, there is no danger of damage to the simulator or person using it. It is a win win situation for both man and machine.

I know of a pilot who had very few problems at a flying school compared to  those who didn’t use a simulator at home before.

    Thank you for this information.

  3. Great post! I’m actually in the market for a new instrument panel and this was really informative. I’m leaning toward the FlightPanelTM FLEX because of its flexibility, but I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts.

This is a great product for people that want to have a more immersive experience when flying. I would definitely recommend it to people that are looking for a more realistic flight experience.

  4. Great blog post! It’s always important for flight simulator enthusiasts to choose the right instrument panel that suits their needs. This post provides valuable insights into two popular options: the FlightPanel™ FLEX and the Logitech Flight Instrument Panel.

The FlightPanel™ FLEX seems like a versatile and user-friendly choice. Its compact size, intelligent features like SwitchSyncTM, IntelliSpinTM, and IntelliPressTM, and compatibility with various flight simulators make it an attractive option for those looking for an authentic flying experience. The fact that it emulates a keyboard for mapping keystrokes simplifies the setup process, which is a big plus.

On the other hand, the Logitech Flight Instrument Panel offers a different approach with its 3.5-inch LCD screen and compatibility with various flight simulation programs. The real-time access to flight data and integration with other controllers make it a convenient choice for enhancing the overall flight simulator experience.

Ultimately, the choice between these two instrument panels will depend on individual preferences and requirements. This post does an excellent job of outlining the key features of each, making it easier for readers to make an informed decision. Thanks for the detailed comparison!

    1. Thanks for the great feedback and yes in order to build full flight simulator panel all you need the right tools and equipment.

  5. I’ve been immersed in flight simulation for years, and choosing the right instrument panel is crucial for an authentic experience. FlightPanel™ FLEX caught my attention with its adaptability and intelligent features like IntelliSpinTM and SwitchSyncTM, making it a versatile choice. Plus, the fact that it doesn’t require complex plugins is a huge advantage. However, Logitech’s Flight Instrument Panel with its LCD screen is hard to overlook, offering real-time data access. Both have their merits, and the decision ultimately comes down to personal preference and specific needs in your flight sim setup. It’s all about finding the perfect fit for your virtual cockpit!
